Perhaps you are wondering exactly how slow we sloths are. Well, for example, while we are up in trees, it takes us about a minute to cover four meters. We’re even slower on the ground. Actually, we came to be called sloths because of our very slow metabolism, low body temperature, and deliberate movements. It’s not that we’re lazy; it’s just the way we evolved.
