Plant-based proteins represent a positive tipping point for a healthy planet.

A recent report by the Global Systems Institute at the University of Exeter in the UK and others finds that a shift toward plant-based proteins represents a positive “tipping point” capable of ushering in a host of benefits for our planet. Swift decarbonization and safeguarding of biodiversity as well as improved food security and human health were cited as the favorable results of the dietary shift.

The report noted that plant-based proteins would transform food and land use systems and serve as an irreversible, self-reinforcing change on the way towards global sustainability. This paper that was co-authored by the Food and Land Use Coalition, an international organization dedicated to transforming the way food is produced, and the system change company SYSTEMIQ had the input of farmers, indigenous groups, and more.

Well done, authors. The sustainable and compassionate plant-based lifestyle is truly the way to preserve and celebrate life on our amazing planet, in Heaven’s grandeur.
