In today’s news, significant decline in meat sales inevitable in United States, Qatari humanitarian organization provides clean water in Yemen, Zimbabwe to build solar facility, United Kingdom researchers develop device to harness energy from perspiration, volunteers step up to help frontline pandemic workers in Australia, world’s largest food company to produce vegan meat in China, and children connect with animals with sanctuary’s pen pal program.

Sales of meat decline while veg food purchases soar in United States.

Due to the pandemic, experts predict that US meat sales could drop by more than US$20 billion this year. According to the non-profit, Midwest Center for Investigative Reporting, as of June 30, there were at least 26,300 coronavirus cases tied to meatpacking facilities in the US, and at least 95 reported cases of workers losing their lives due to the virus. Research also shows that more consumers are now turning to plant-based foods such as tofu, tempeh, vegan cheeses and meats. According to the Plant Based Foods Association in the US and the Canadian retail analytics firm SPINS, vegan food sales have increased by 90% from January to April this year compared to the same period in 2019. We are so happy to hear of the growing vegan trend! Thank you, Midwest Center for Investigative Reporting, Plant Based Foods Association and SPINS, for conducting this valuable research. May all meat industries be closed down as we all adopt a healthy vegan lifestyle, in Heaven’s mercy.

Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), a Shining World Compassion Award laureate, provides access to safe, clean water in Yemen.

Representatives of QRCS began constructing and improving five water wells in the Al-Marawi’ah District and nine in the Al-Sukhnah District of the Al-Hudaydah Governorate in Yemen. It is part of an almost US$400,000 water improvement project that will benefit up to 12,250 people. The solar-operated water wells will be constructed within five months to make more clean water readily available. Ahmed Ali, a chieftain of the area, expressed his appreciation for QRCS coming to such a distant village saying, “This is our greatest dream. We are so grateful to the donors. May Allah bless them.” Many thanks, Qatar Red Crescent Society, for this important endeavor. In the Divine’s infinite care, may all have an abundance of food and water in a sustainable world.

Up next, Zimbabwe to build solar facility. We’ll spend some time now to thank the obstetricians, who provide specialized medical care to expecting mothers and safely deliver their babies. Please stay tuned to Supreme Master Television for more encouraging news.

Hallo virtuous viewers, it’s Lenny the vegan Black and White Ruffed Lemur! Do you want to know how I became so awesome? My power comes from plants! I have an animal tip for you. You can determine whether your dog is gaining weight just by looking at their shape. Dogs come in various forms and sizes, but a healthy body remains the same between dogs. This is also known as “body condition scoring” among veterinarians. You can easily give a body conditioning exam for your dog at home by performing the following. Observe your dog from the side and on top. They should have a tucked in waist. Feel underneath your dog’s belly, it shouldn’t bulge out. Feel the span of their back and sides; the spine, ribs and hips shouldn’t poke out, but they should be easily felt. Also be sure to feel the area where your dog’s tail attaches to their body. There should not be excessive fat here. Remember to take regular trips to your vet to make sure your loyal pal is in tip top shape. Love you so much for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet, thus save the world! And, thank you for your attention. Here’s the weather around our beautiful globe.

Zimbabwe approves large-scale solar plant.

The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority recently approved a 90-megawatt solar plant in the town of Chiredzi in the southeastern part of the country. The US$88 million facility will be constructed on 241 hectares by the local firm Triangle Solar System, and should begin in September or October. It is scheduled to be completed by the first half of next year. The initiative will prevent over 100,000 metric tons of CO2 per year, and assist in making the nation more energy independent. Great news, Zimbabwe, on your future solar energy efforts. May your kind citizens be ecologically inspired as they progress towards a fully green nation, in Celestial brilliance.

Scientists invent a battery that runs on perspiration.

Dr. Ravinder Dahiya and his team at the The Bendable Electronics and Sensing Technologies (BEST) research group at the University of Glasgow in the United Kingdom are developing a one-of-a-kind, flexible supercapacitor that absorbs human perspiration to produce energy. The design includes an absorbent polyester cloth and a thin layer of polymer that accumulate the liquid and create an environment for the positive and negative ions to react, producing a flow of electricity. The engineers stated that wearable devices can be fully charged with as little as 20 microliters of sweat, making their invention both practical and sustainable to manufacture. Kudos, Dr. Ravinder Dahiya and BEST researchers, for this next-generation battery design. In God’s boundless wisdom, may we continue to tune into our inner creativity to benefit humankind in a benevolent, vegan world.

Australian volunteers rally for hospital heroes.

Volunteers throughout Australia joined the Helping our Hospital Heroes Australia project to sew thousands of scrub caps for hospital personnel. Nurses who normally do not wear headgear had requested the caps during the coronavirus pandemic to keep themselves and their families safe. Using social media to organize the effort during the period of social distancing, enthusiastic seamstresses took up sewing to create the caps, using their own supplies. The original goal of 1,000 caps was soon surpassed as the demand also rose. By the end of the endeavor, the volunteers had donated over 15,000 scrub caps to grateful hospital workers. What a laudable achievement, Helping Our Hospital Heroes Australia participants! We applaud your labor of love to show your humble appreciation for those who care for us, in Heaven’s blessings.

Coming up, world’s largest food company to produce vegan meat in China. We are going to pause for a moment to repent our past ignoble thoughts and actions, and sincerely ask God for forgiveness. More meaningful news coming up on Supreme Master Television.

Nestlé to launch vegan meat in China.

Switzerland-based food and drink giant Nestlé will invest US$103 million to expand its Chinese manufacturing plant in Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area, with a portion of the allocated funds being used to open a plant-based food factory. By the end of this year, Nestlé plans to start selling vegan meat in China. Since 2017, the company has been expanding its plant-based options all over the world, which started with the acquisition of the veg Sweet Earth brand from the United States, and includes the vegan patty for McDonald’s Big Vegan burger in Germany. Way to go, Nestlé! In the mercy of the Providence, may your vegan products become a great success as more people choose the diet of kindness.

United States sanctuary’s pen pals program connects children with animals.

In a fun initiative to encourage kindness towards animals among stay-at-home kids, Pasado’s Safe Haven, an animal sanctuary in Washington State, has launched the Pasado’s Pen Pals program. To participate, children first choose an animal friend from the pen pal list, which includes Blue Cow, Duke Rooster and Smudge Goat, and then send him or her a letter. In return, they receive a written reply, a photo of the adorable pal, and one or two stickers with messages such as “choose love for the animals.” One of the participants, 7-year-old Isaiah wrote, “Dear Duke, I love the way your feathers look. They’re nice and shiny.” Popular among children, the nonprofit has received nearly 50 of these letters of friendship in a recent week. Our happy appreciation, Pasado’s Safe Haven, wishing all of your beautiful residents much joy each and every day. May we always be loving to our cherished animal friends, in God’s all-embracing goodness.

We want to chill you out with a laugh with a joke of the day entitled “Compromise.”

“You know, I almost envy you, Kyle. Your wife and you are always on the same page. Seems like you never disagree with each other!”

“Oh, Sam! It is all about compromise from both sides.”

“But how do you do it?”

“Simple. I admit I’m wrong and she agrees with me.”

And now we have a heartline from A-Le in Taiwan, also known as Formosa:

Dear Master Ching Hai, Thank You for taking care of me meticulously and protecting my aspiration for the Truth. Thank You for imbuing me with the noble ideal. Master, You are my best friend, companion, and everything. Thank You for coming into my life, for which I feel exceptionally honored, fortunate, and blessed. I hope I can take good care of myself and practice more diligently in order to be of some help to all beings. Only so I can repay Your boundless love and compassion. A-Le from Taiwan (Formosa)

Loving A-Le, Our gratitude for sharing your touching heartline with us. We hope you flourish on your spiritual journey ahead.

Master has a message for you: “Dearest A-Le, you are most welcome, my love. With diligent meditation, your selfless spirit will continue to expand. All love and Heavens’ benevolent blessings to you and magnificent Taiwan (Formosa).”

We welcome your heartlines, stories and or cute, loving animal clips. Please send them via SupremeMasterTV.com/heartline
