United States moves to end conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The United States’ new Acting Defense Secretary, the Honorable Christopher Miller, announced on Tuesday, November 17, 2020: “I’m here today to update you on President Trump’s plan to bring the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq to a successful and responsible conclusion, and to bring our brave service members home.”

Secretary Miller said troop levels in Afghanistan and Iraq will be reduced to 2,500 in both countries by January 15, 2021. In a letter to all Department of Defense employees, he wrote, “…this fight has been long, our sacrifices have been enormous, and many are weary of war – I’m one of them… this is the critical phase in which we transition our efforts from a leadership to supporting role. We are not a people of perpetual war. It is the antithesis of everything for which we stand and for which our ancestors fought. All wars must end.” President Trump, a Shining World Peace Leader Award and Shining World Leadership Award for Compassion laureate, has been supporting peace on the Korean peninsula and has recently mediated several peace agreements, including those between Israel and the countries of Bahrain, Sudan and the United Arab Emirates, as well as between Kosovo and Serbia. Earlier this year, he brokered a peace deal with the Taliban to facilitate a permanent ceasefire and to reduce the US military footprint in Afghanistan. Our earnest gratitude, Your Excellency Donald Trump and the Honorable Christopher Miller, for protecting countless soldiers, families and civilians affected by armed conflicts, and for exemplifying leadership committed to harmonious relations among all nations. May your noble vision of lasting world Peace soon be realized, in Heaven’s infinite benevolence.

Saudi Arabia, a Shining World Leadership for Loving Care Award laureate, supports education in Yemen.

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSRelief), a Saudi government international relief organization, agreed to contribute US$46 million to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). It will be used to enhance Yemeni youngsters’ opportunities to obtain quality education during the pandemic as well as to help plan for a safe return to school. Measures include offering remote learning, providing educational supplies to students, equipping schools and strengthening staff capacities. In addition, psychosocial support and mental health services will also be available for children and families as well as improvements in COVID-19 health services and emergency responses. Our respectful gratitude, Saudi Arabia, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre and UNICEF! May the precious Yemeni children flourish in Allah’s forever care and protection.

Astronomers discover massive black hole containing six galaxies.

Astronomers led by Dr. Marco Mignoli of the National Institute for Astrophysics in Bologna, Italy recently published their extraordinary findings in the international peer-reviewed journal Astronomy & Astrophysics. Spotted by the European Southern Observatory telescope, the black hole was formed less than one billion years after the Big Bang, and has a mass of around one billion times that of our sun. It was explained that the region of space ensnared the six galaxies with “cosmic filaments” made up of dark matter and gas that operate in a similar way to a spider’s web. This black hole’s “web” is 300 times the size of our Milky Way galaxy. Such a fascinating discovery, Dr. Marco Mignoli and co-researchers. May it lead to more understanding of our wondrous universe as we look to the stars in amazement and awe, in Celestial grandeur.

Up next, Sweden promotes green energy adoption. We’ll just take a little time to thank the cosmetic engineers who develop natural and clean beauty solutions using vegan ingredients. Please stay tuned to Supreme Master Television for more enriching news.

Good day compassionate friends! I’m Paul the vegan Pink-Necked Green Pigeon. Be calm, be cool and be vegan, just like me! Wearing masks for an extended period of time can sometimes cause skin irritation such as acne or contact dermatitis. Temperature, moisture and friction all increase as a result of masks, making the skin more susceptible to developing these adverse reactions. Here is a simple way you can help protect your skin. Dermatologists advise using a mild skin cleanser and moisturizing your face before putting your mask on or after removing it. Moisturizers also serve as a physical barrier between your skin and the mask to prevent friction. Thank you for your attention and lots of love for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet for all humans and us all co-inhabitants. Now, the worldwide weather.

Sweden, a Shining World Leadership Award for Compassion recipient, eliminates energy tax for small-scale photovoltaic systems.

The Swedish government has removed the energy tax on solar installations operating at 500-kilowatt capacity and below to promote renewable energy sector growth. Additionally, the national Swedish Energy Agency has extended a rebate program to 2021 for municipalities and enterprise rooftop solar power stations, with a budget of US$29.6 million. The Agency has so far invested US$381 million in the rebate program, which has brought an increase in solar capacity from 411 megawatts at the end of 2018 to nearly 700 megawatts at the close of 2019. Good move, Swedish government, for making it easier for businesses and households to make the switch to green energy. May more countries continue to work towards a carbon-neutral future, in the guidance of the Providence.

Thailand, a Shining World Leadership Award for Good Governance laureate, introduces more environmentally friendly public transportation.

To reduce pollution, improve air quality and encourage wider use of zero-emission transportation, state enterprise Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand has placed 51 electric motorbike taxis on the road and launched two boat prototypes. The GPS-enabled motorbikes will service those around the Bang Kruai District in Nonthaburi Province and can travel 100 kilometers on a full charge, going more than 80 kilometers per hour. The 80-passenger electric boat models are built with a 214-kilowatt-hour battery that can support travel of 60 kilometers per charge. They have solar cells on the roof, allowing passengers to ride comfortably in air conditioning. We laud such innovative eco-solutions, the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand. In Buddha’s eternal wisdom, may the world quickly adopt more sustainability protocols combined with the low emissions vegan diet to rapidly cool the planet.

Woman experiencing homelessness finds job and family.

LaShenda Williams of Nashville, Tennessee in the United States, was living out of her car, having grown out of the foster care system in which she was raised and coping with many adversities in life. After losing two jobs and struggling to find employment due to a learning disability, she prayed about the situation and then drove to her local Kroger grocery store, where she was impressed by the warmth of the staff. Ms. Williams continued to return to the store to buy food and chat with the employees. When the manager told her about an upcoming job fair, she applied and was hired. After distinguishing herself at work, she quickly received a promotion and was soon able to move into her own apartment. Speaking of her new family of fellow employees and customers, Ms. Williams said, “It just fills my heart with joy.” Heaven be praised, LaShenda Williams, and God bless you and your caring community. You maintained a positive spirit and the Divine has showered you with grace!

Coming up, United Kingdom vegan charity launches online platform to help youngsters make compassionate transition. We are going to take some time to enjoy a wooden xylophone orchestra called Chopi Timbila, a UNESCO-inscribed intangible cultural heritage of humanity from Mozambique. More splendid news coming up on Supreme Master Television. Welcome back to Noteworthy News - Encouraging News for a Hope-filled World.

Vegan Society introduces online Teen Hub.

The United Kingdom-based nonprofit The Vegan Society has created a new resource, Teen Hub, to offer invaluable information, tips, delectable recipes, supporting advice and more to youngsters who are vegan or interested in veganism. According to research in 2019 from Ipsos MORI, a UK-based market research company, almost 50% of vegans in the country are aged 15 to 35 with “an increasing number of teenagers adopting compassionate lifestyles.” Commenting on Teen Hub, Matt Turner, the Media and Public Relations Officer for The Vegan Society explained, “Teenagers who are still in school or living with their parents may face challenges and objections that adults wouldn’t, which is why our Teen Hub is a vital tool in helping those who need guidance, support or inspiration to thrive as young vegans.” We applaud your excellent new resource, The Vegan Society. May your diligent efforts continue to encourage more youth to transition to the win-win vegan lifestyle, in the tender embrace of the Providence.

United States sanctuary constructs new home for former circus elephants.

In preparation to receive 30 Asian elephants in 2021, White Oak Conservation (WOC) has begun work on the creation of a 1010-hectare natural habitat for them in Nassau County of northeastern Florida. The new home within WOC’s 6,880-hectare safe haven will have three barns with high-tech veterinary equipment and 11 waterholes for the fun-loving pachyderms, aged eight to 64. Moreover, nine interlinked areas featuring wetlands, meadows, and woods will also be accessible to the elephants. Funding for building the new habitat is provided by philanthropists Mark and Kimbra Walter who are owners of Walter Conservation, the conservation group of which WOC is a part of. Our heartfelt gratefulness, White Oak Conservation. May Heaven bless you immensely for your generosity, Mark and Kimbra Walter. In the Divine’s boundless love, may we protect all of God’s magnificent creations, as we herald a kind vegan world.

Nothing diffuses conflict faster than a good laugh. Get happy with the joke of the day entitled “Mosquito Escape.”

Two young ladies are talking:

“I know how to get rid of mosquitoes!”

“I can’t wait to hear it. How do you do it?”

"Oh it is so easy! Last night I opened all doors and windows, with the lights on. I let all the mosquitoes enter the room, then I shut everything. I could hear the mosquitoes struggling to look for me. And I slept outside!"

?!

And now we have a heartline from Choi Seo Yun in Korea:

I always enjoy watching Supreme Master TV's culture and arts programs. Especially the Korea Peace Day performance was so colorful and touching, that I searched for the program again. Watching the appearances of Master and fellow initiates from around the world who warmly welcomed the artists of the Pyongyang Folk Arts Group who are conveying peace by informing the world of the Northern region’s (Korean) culture left an unforgettable impression. In addition, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the compassionate and loving Master who invited the Pyongyang Folk Arts Group and gave us the opportunity to enjoy a good performance together. I would like to express my gratitude to all those who have made every effort for peace on the Korean Peninsula and around the world and the troupes who have presented beautiful performances. I hope there will be an opportunity to experience the Northern region’s culture again in the near future. I would like to finish by adding the words of Supreme Master Ching Hai: “Peace is the only answer!” Thank You. Choi Seo Yun from Korea

Caring Choi Seo Yun, Thank you for writing to us, we have enjoyed reading your heartline. It was an inspiring moment to witness the historic handshake between the two Korean leaders marking a new era of peace.
