It will benefit an estimated one million citizens with access to urgently needed clean water, food and hygiene necessities. Increasing temperatures caused more uncommon and excessive weather phenomena last year, bringing disastrous impacts worldwide. A record heatwave in Canada led to almost 600 deaths and unprecedented glacier melt. Asia and Europe experienced extreme rains and deadly flooding, while Africa and subtropical South America suffered from severe drought. Soberingly, the WMO warned that global warming is expected to continue, and by the century’s end, the temperature rise will far exceed the Paris Agreement goals of 1.5 to 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels. Studies find making others happy is key to personal joy.
A series of five studies, carried out among university students in the midwestern United States has discovered that making others happy increases a person’s joy more than if they tried to please themselves. The results were published in the peer-reviewed “Journal of Positive Psychology.” In one of the investigations, the researchers asked participants to remember an instance when they did something to please someone else, and also a time when they did something to make themselves happy. They found that helping others was more gratifying. It was also seen that the joy generated in the giving person was not related to how happy they made the other person, but how much they perceived they helped them. Morocco initiates employment program.
The government of Morocco has announced a US$241 million jobs initiative called “Awrach,” with the goal of creating 250,000 new positions over the next two years. Gender equality is also an important element of the endeavor. In one aspect of the project, temporary public jobs of six months duration will be established to provide an economic boost to those employed. The government has also allocated US$134 million for the “Forsa” project to support entrepreneurship through various means such as workshops. The initiatives will focus on addressing the increase in unemployment due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with the expectation to grow the nation’s wealth by about 4% and create a million jobs during the coming five years. Canadian man supports vulnerable population by gifting potatoes.
Mac Watson, a retired mining geologist in Montreal, learned about a United States export ban on potatoes from Prince Edward Island, Canada. Concerned that the spuds grown there could go unused, he decided to have some shipped to Montreal to help the disadvantaged. He donated approximately US$11,800 to the endeavor and worked with the Prince Edward Island Potato Board to transport 27,000 kilograms of potatoes to his city. The Welcome Hall Mission charity helped distribute the food through its hot meal program, which benefits 1,200 homeless people daily, and free grocery stores, that are visited by over 2,500 citizens per week. The Good Food Institute (GFI), an entity that promotes plant-based alternatives, recently released a report concluding that the world will need to invest US$27 billion into vegan plant-based meat production facilities by 2030. This amount would be necessary to construct 800 mega-factories to generate 30,000 metric tons of the vegan product annually to keep up with the ever-growing demand. GFI noted that key ingredients needed for production, such as coconut oil and pea protein, may experience shortages if further action is not taken. A big applause, Good Food Institute, for highlighting future demand and helping outline the exceptional investment opportunities in the vegan plant-based meat sector. Luxury Italian fashion company to become fur-free.
Outerwear brand Moncler recently announced that its garments will be fur-free after its Winter/Fall 2023 collection. The decision comes after the Italian government mandated a ban on all fur-raising operations as of June 30, 2022, following the long-time negotiating efforts of local and international animal-people rights organizations and concerned citizens. Simone Pavesi, Animal Free Fashion Area Manager at Italian animal-persons rights group LAV, said, “…we have put an end to a cruel, anachronistic, unjustifiable industry that has no more reason to exist in a civil society where the value of respect for animals, as sentient beings, is always more widespread and rooted.” Moncler now joins other luxury brands such as Canada Goose, Oscar de la Renta, and YSL in adopting fur-free policies. Beloved Master, During the time my area was locked down due to COVID-19, I faced a lot of difficulties: loss of a job, passing of my father, and my infection with the coronavirus. But I am so grateful to You for being with me all the time and guiding me through all those difficulties. Thanks to Your teachings about living frugally and independently, eating nutritiously to improve the immune system, and eating simply to save time, we adapted quickly to the situation of food scarcity during the lockdown time.
And thanks to the Quan Yin Method, my coronavirus infection was very minor and brought me many inner experiences. We always followed Your advice on treatment which was shown on Supreme Master Television, and we drank extra coconut juice with fresh ginger and rock sugar. We also shared these with our neighbors and the children, who luckily were just infected lightly and recovered completely. I would like to thank Master so much.
When I was sick with the coronavirus, I felt the existence of many viruses inside my body, and it seemed like I could talk to them. Probably in some previous lifetimes, due to ignorance, I harmed them, so when I meditated, I apologized to them that I didn’t mean to hurt them.
I told them I repented for my mistakes and follow Master to practice the Quan Yin Method to be liberated, so I hoped that they would not try to take revenge, and as a result, reincarnate to suffer in the karmic cycle.
I told them that if they are already inside my body, then they should practice the Quan Yin Method with me so that they don’t have to live a suffering virus’ life like this anymore. And they did listen to me. I felt that they love to meditate, especially on the (inner Heavenly) Sound. They always urged me to go meditate, and every time I finished the (inner Heavenly) Sound meditation, my body felt so light and comfortable.
And three times during my (inner Heavenly) Sound meditation, there was a current from below rising to the top of my head and flying away. During those times, I felt a large number of viruses leaving my body, and that they were elevated and liberated from the virus existence. I felt their happiness, and they even smiled at me to say goodbye. After experiencing this three times, I quickly and completely recovered.
Through this illness, I was not sad but rather very happy to know that some of the viruses were very knowledgeable. They really didn’t want to hurt people and sincerely wanted to practice spiritually to be liberated.
I also thank Master for always opening Your arms to welcome us and all beings to go back [Home]. I wish the world would turn vegan quickly, and peace to be with all beings.
