An Air Canada cargo plane has delivered items such as hospital beds, humanitarian goods and medical supplies to aid Ukrainian refugees who have fled to Poland. The endeavor is a partnership between charity medical equipment provider Project C.U.R.E, Air Canada, non-profit disaster logistics organization Airlink, and freight forwarder Flexport. Project C.U.R.E will transport the shipment to hospitals at border regions between Poland and Ukraine to enable them to provide better medical care to Ukrainians in need. The four compassionate organizations worked closely together to remove as many obstacles as possible such as the cost of air transportation and air cargo space availability to enable these valuable items to be sent swiftly. Analysts from financial services company Citi estimate that the current wave of the virus will erase 0.5 to 0.8% from the nation’s first-quarter Gross Domestic Product (GDP), as businesses close under lockdown measures. United Kingdom charity constructing modular housing for homeless young people.
Centrepoint, the country’s leading youth charity, is building 33 modular, self-contained units in South London and will be offering them to employed, but still homeless, youth. Rent will be a maximum of one-third their salary. The initiative is part of the organization’s Independent Living Programme (ILP). The modern styled studio apartments are fully self-contained with a bathroom, kitchen and dining area. The ILP offers individuals an opportunity to set the foundation for a better life with stable and affordable living. Recipients need to have, or be accepted for, an apprenticeship or entry-level job to be eligible for the homes. The charity aims to house 300 individuals in London and Manchester over the next year to achieve its accommodation goals. Great work, Centrepoint, and best wishes to all participants in your program. Norwegian government boosts sustainable energy development in Africa.
The Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) is providing a grant of US$56 million to the African Trade Insurance Agency (ATI) to support Africa’s renewable energy sector over the next five years. The grant will be used to expand ATI’s Regional Liquidity Support Facility (RLSF), a service that helps independent sustainable power producers address short-term liquidity risks by providing cash collateral and demand guarantees to banks so they will support approved projects. So far, the RLSF has provided financing of over US$150 million for four solar plants in Burundi and Malawi. ATI has also enabled the installation of more than 500 megawatts of green energy projects across its member countries. Norway is a recipient of Shining World Leadership Awards for Environmental Protection, Humanitarianism, Good Governance and Peace, and a laureate of Shining World Leadership Awards for Animal Protection and Compassion. American philanthropist helps Chicagoans buy gasoline.
After recently giving away US$200,000 to enable around 4,000 vehicles to fill up on gas, Dr. Willie Wilson decided to repeat the charitable endeavor, this time donating US$1 million to help people in Chicago, United States, and suburban areas deal with rising gas prices. Each driver received US$50 worth of fuel at one of 40-plus participating gas stations, which agreed to lower their prices, thus enabling about 20,000 drivers to benefit. Police officers and volunteers helped to guide the traffic flow to prevent any mishaps as delighted people filled their tanks. The enterprise’s products are all vegan, made from pea protein, and free of gluten, soy, preservatives, GMO, palm oil, trans fat, and cholesterol. Airline stops transporting monkey-people to US for experimentation.
A truck full of Cynomolgus monkey-people collided with a dump truck in Pennsylvania earlier this year, leading to several monkey-people running free while three of the intelligent beings were tragically shot and killed. They originally had been transported by Kenya Airways from Mauritius to New York, United States. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed that nearly 27,000 primates have been brought to the US since September 30, 2020. Cynomolgus monkey-people are primarily used for medical research because their DNA resembles that of humans, and, since the pandemic’s start, in particular for testing vaccines. The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), a Shining World Compassion Award recipient, successfully lobbied Kenya Airways to stop shipping monkey-people to the US, where they are being subject to abysmal cruelty. I watched the program three times and cried three times, and I felt sorry for President Zelenskyy and his country. I so much admire his unconquerable, resilient courage in his determination to protect his free and democratic Ukraine with his peace-loving citizens, against the invading army.
Suddenly, I was inspired to write a poem dedicated to him. I just want to express my admiration for President Zelenskyy:
