In Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association Relief News from India…

The remote and mountainous regions of India are known for their harsh winter months, which can be particularly challenging for the holy land’s nomadic monks and nuns. Understanding firsthand the hardships they endure, Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan) has lovingly offered funds over the years for their comfort and warmth each winter. In October 2023, Master again conveyed Her concern and care for the Truth-seekers with a humble contribution of US$50,000 for their needs, along with the message: “May God bless the devotees. With all love in Hiers Grace.”

Our Association’s relief teams in various parts of India purchased and delivered care packages containing blankets, socks, caps, sweaters, dried fruits and other vegan sweets, to bring some measure of comfort to these spiritual practitioners during their winter retreats. Our Association members have thus far visited areas in several states: Junagarh and the holy town of Chanod in Gujarat state; the sacred city of Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh state; and Ahmedgarh, Dehlon, Hoshiarpur, and Garhshankar in Punjab state.

All the spiritual practitioners were introduced to Master’s books and teachings. They were very happy and grateful to receive both the spiritual and material comfort. Among the practitioners encountered were sadhus, solitary renunciates who often convey their obeisance to God in stationary postures maintained for long periods of time. Many of the sadhus our Association members met have been practicing for decades, with one such monk who has had his right arm raised for the past 17 years.

In response to the India relief teams’ initial report, our Most Cherished Master replied: “Dear wonderful souls, Godbless, Thank you all for your help in offering loving care for the holy monks. Paying more attention to wandering monks is good, because no one helps them regularly, as they have no fixed abode. And thus go often without food and comfort. This world is full of suffering, I don’t feel well not being able to extend more embrace!!! Thanks the Lord who will provide to all when they need.”

In addition, Master offered another US$24,000 toward the rebuilding of huts in Gujarat state’s town of Chanod for the 21 monks who had lost their dwellings to the September 2023 floods. Along with the hut reconstruction, She asked us to “please buy each monk a cot and a warm and a light blanket, a pillow plus a carpet and a mattress so they can sit on the floor when meditating, also a mosquito net.” And further instructed: “accountant: please send more money so they can buy, with lots and lots of love/reverence from Master, by GOD’s Grace.”

Also vegan foods have been offered to these holy monks. At this time, several huts have already been rebuilt and furnished according to Master’s instruction to ask the monks, “How do they want their huts rebuilt?” The monks conveyed their gratitude to Master for the new bamboo dwellings done according to their wish.

We profoundly appreciate our Most Loving Master’s example of care for those in need, and we thank our Association members from India for their sincere efforts. In Divine upliftment, may every citizen of India be sustained in daily comfort, and every sincere seeker realize the higher Truth their heart so longs for.
