Today’s tip introduces how a staycation can offer an opportunity to rest, recharge, and enjoy your own city from a new perspective. To make the most of a staycation, treat it like a real vacation. Set boundaries, turn off notifications, put an out-of-office message on, and protect your time so you can truly disconnect from your everyday routine. You can also select a theme, such as a plant-based culinary weekend, an arts and culture escape, or a sports-inspired getaway. Plan a light itinerary but leave plenty of room for spontaneity – whether that means wandering through a new neighborhood, exploring local cafés, or relaxing in a park. Finally, make an effort to experience something new. Visit a museum exhibit you haven’t seen, explore a local attraction, attend an event, or try a newly opened vegan restaurant. Sometimes, all it takes to make a getaway feel special is seeing familiar surroundings with fresh eyes.
