Notably, around 40% of the world’s population lives in the tropics, where climate change-induced warming and humidity, along with extreme heatwaves, could threaten lives and crop yields. To avoid heat-related harms, the researchers call for forest conservation and better land management policies. The Make Yourself at Home program is helping refugees and asylum seekers in Wales by teaching them new skills and providing the opportunity to meet new friends. Held in the town of Wrexham’s Ty Pawb arts center, participants are provided training in a variety of crafts such as textiles, printing and ceramics. Coming from countries around the world, the craftspeople can also sell their work at the center and obtain references for applying for work.
