In today’s news, European Union provides pandemic assistance to Yemen, coronavirus-disabling air filter developed in United States, scientists study Arctic plant grown from ancient frozen seed, United Kingdom scientists improve bioplastic recycling, teenager mows lawn to raise funds for charity, international fast food chain adds plant-based meat to menu in Hong Kong, and Southern white rhinos thriving in South Africa.

European Union assists Yemen in coronavirus response.

The European Union (EU), a Shining World Leadership Award for Peace recipient, and a Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion, Unconditional World Care and True Caring laureate, has contributed an additional €70 million to support the people of Yemen – of which €40 million will be used to help prevent and respond to the COVID-19 virus. Remaining funds will be used for water, food, nutrition, shelter and more. Through United Nations agencies and other organizations, the EU has provided €822 million of aid towards Yemen since 2015. The EU also supports United Nations-led peace talks seeking to establish harmony in the nation. Thank you, European Union and United Nations, for your life-protecting support. May the kind Yemeni people soon see permanent peace and stability, in the merciful Light of the Heavens.

New air filter deactivates COVID-19 virus.

A collaboration between Monzer Hourani, the CEO of medical real estate development firm Medistar, based in Houston, Texas, United States, and researchers led by Dr. Zhifeng Ren of the University of Houston, has produced an air filter design that traps and neutralizes the coronavirus. It is made from commercially available nickel foam and deactivates 99.8% of the virus when heated to 200°C. The researchers have suggested a phased application of the device at high-priority venues such as schools, hospitals and airplanes, to help stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Our appreciation, Mr. Hourani, Dr. Zhifeng Ren and all involved in this impressive, helpful invention. May the benevolent light of the Divine shine our way to a vegan, pandemic-free future.

Up next, scientists study Arctic plant grown from ancient frozen seed. Let’s spend a moment to thank the vegan cooking instructors who are showing many new vegans the delightful art and techniques of plant-based food preparation. When we return, more inspiring news ahead, here on Supreme Master Television! Good day, compassionate friends! I’m Santos the vegan Black Bearded Saki. Can you honestly think of a better way to live than being vegan? It just feels so awesome! Let’s start today and make our world a better place! Here is a good tip on how to grate dairy-free cheese easily. Store your dairy-free cheese in your refrigerator until you’re ready to use it. When you’re ready to prepare it, simply transfer it over to the freezer about 30 minutes prior to its use. After you take it out of the freezer, the cheese will break apart effortlessly upon grating, without you having to exert too much force. Thank you for your attention, and lots of love for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet, for all humans and us all co-inhabitants. Now, the worldwide weather.

Scientists investigate plant grown from 32,000-year-old seeds.

Researchers from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna, Austria, are attempting to map the DNA of an Arctic plant they first grew in 2012, from ancient seeds found 38 meters below the permafrost in Siberia. The seeds were uncovered by researchers from Hungary, Russia and the United States in 2007, in an ancient squirrel’s burrow that was perfectly prepared with hay and other materials. Austrian scientists are now determining how the plant was able to germinate after so long and if that knowledge can be applied to helping plants adapt to the climate crisis. Many thanks, respected scientists from Austria, Russia, Hungary and the United States. In the splendor of the Providence, may your seed discovery uncover more fascinating miracles of the nature around us.

Researchers create more efficient method for recycling bioplastics.

In the United Kingdom, Dr. Joe Wood and his University of Birmingham team, along with co-researchers from the University of Bath, have created a method to efficiently recycle bioplastics. Their technique works on materials made from polylactic acid (PLA) – commonly used in packaging materials, toys, and disposable cups. Typically taking up to a few months to biodegrade, this new method will mix bioplastics with a zinc-based catalyst and methanol. The resulting green solvent can be used in many industries such as pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. Great job, Dr. Joe Wood and co-researchers from the Universities of Birmingham and Bath. May all waste soon be recycled or reused to ensure that we walk this beloved planet in genuine care and consideration.

Youngster mows lawns to help children.

Over a couple of weeks, 13-year-old Keelan Young from Rockford, Illinois, United States, raised almost US$1,000 by mowing lawns for Children’s Safe Harbor (CSH), an advocacy center for vulnerable children. After Keelan heard a phone conversation between his mother and the director of CSH regarding the cancellation of their yearly fundraising dinner due to COVID-19, kind Keelan himself called the director and offered to mow lawns this summer to help. The determined boy is intent on continuing his fundraising efforts to make up for what the organization would have made through their annual fundraising event. We gratefully applaud you, Keelan Young. God bless your selfless heart. May many children be helped by your donation to Children’s Safe Harbor, as your noble example inspires us all.

Coming up, international fast food chain adds plant-based meat to menu in Hong Kong. We’ll pause now to appreciate the innovative problem solvers in food aid organizations who use their God-given talents to alleviate hunger and improve our world. You’re watching Noteworthy News on Supreme Master Television. Welcome back to Noteworthy News – Exceptional News for an Excellent World.

Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) in Hong Kong launches plant-based chicken products.

KFC in Hong Kong recently introduced the New Era series, which includes plant-based nuggets from Alpha Foods, and a meat-free burger with a patty from Gardein. Made with proteins such as from peas, organic grains, vegetables, soy and wheat, the new options will be available in 19 locations. Through a poll conducted by Ipsos and commissioned by Hong Kong’s Green Monday, researchers discovered that due to the pandemic, a quarter of all young people in the city are expected to significantly decrease their meat consumption. Way to go, KFC and the wise people of Hong Kong. In Celestial radiance, may you lead the way for vegan fast food to become the most popular the world over.

Southern white rhino population grows by 34,000%.

Thanks to efforts by the Hluhluwe Imfolozi Park in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, the population of southern white rhinos has rebounded from near extinction levels of less than 50 in the early 1900s, to over 17,000 today. The 96,000-hectare reserve uses high-tech equipment for monitoring, including smart fencing and cameras – all linking back to an information center that dispatches a helicopter within minutes if poachers are detected. As a result, the number of rhinos lost per month has gone from as many as 15 to zero. Non-profit, Peace Parks Foundation, has assisted this effort by establishing trans-frontier conservation regions in southern Africa. What an outstanding achievement, Hluhluwe Imfolozi Park, Peace Parks Foundation, and all dedicated staff members. May the rhinos’ majestic lives always be safeguarded so they may flourish in Heaven’s sheltering peace.

Hope you’ll find the following joke funny, well at least it’s free. It’s called “High-def TV.”

Mrs. and Mr. Miller’s salesman at the electronics store was pitching a high-definition television. A fellow shopper overheard the spiel and mentioned that he had upgraded his regular TV to high-def.

Then Mr. Miller asked: “How did you do that?”

“I dusted the screen.”

And now we have a heartline from Azure in Taiwan, also known as Formosa:

Hallo, dear Master and excellent Supreme Master TV team, I saw on Supreme Master TV a program celebrating Father's Day. In the clip, Master was deeply moved by a fellow initiate’s performance, which showcased the sacrifices of the swan father for his baby swans as written in the "The Noble Wilds." Master was touched to tears. At that time, I also thought of my father who had passed away and gone to Heaven. While alive, he alone shouldered the responsibility of being both a father and mother, worked hard and took care of us, his young kids. Like the parent swan, his health deteriorated gradually. Later, fortunately, he became a fellow practitioner and lived a few happy years practicing. At the end of his life, Master liberated him from illness and took him to Heaven. Every time when I thought of him, I couldn't help but cry. It was a difficult time for me. But later, I realized that his unconditional fatherly love was a good example for me. He taught me how to fulfill a mother's duty to give my children a safe and happy environment, guide them to follow Master and practice together happily, and treat all beings with love and create beautiful things together every day. I hope that when they grow up, when they think of their mother, they will think of love, and have beautiful memories, and I also hope they will continue to pass on that love. I am very grateful to the great Master for helping me understand that Master not only teaches us to love animals but also to learn from the animals. When we say we don’t know how to be good parents, we can learn from the animals. Thank You, Master and the excellent fellow initiates of Supreme Master TV, for making wonderful programs through which our whole family is immersed in paradise. Azure from Taiwan (Formosa)

Pure Azure, Our appreciation for sending us your heartline expressing your deepfelt gratitude for your father´s love and valuable insights on family life. Thank you for being an attentive parent. We join you in thanking Master for Supreme Master Television that provides wholesome programming for all families to watch together. May Buddha’s light forever bathe you and your refined co-citizens of Taiwan (Formosa), Supreme Master TV team

P.S. Master says: “Filial Azure, your family shines with your steady guidance, and Heaven will watch over them. My affection for your loyalty. Heaven bless you and all the honorable Taiwanese (Formosan) people.”
