In Shining World Compassion Award News from the United Kingdom…
Eighteen-year-old Sebastian Hall of Surrey, UK, is a true example of how small, random acts of kindness can spark change in the entire community. “Sebbie,” as he is lovingly called, was diagnosed with a rare chromosome anomaly at one year old. Even though this has made life more challenging for Sebbie, it has not deterred him from his mission to help others. When the pandemic lockdowns were implemented in March 2020, Sebbie was concerned that people at home were feeling lonely, so he started a challenge where he did 100 acts of kindness in 10 days to raise £1,000 for charity. After this was over, Sebbie wanted to continue, and this has led him to conduct over 2,000 acts of random kindness, at least one each day since the pandemic’s start, while raising over £42,000 to support young people with disabilities.
“It’s inspiring for other people with any sort of disability or even without a disability, because there are lots of us that sort of sit around and don’t think that they can make a difference or don’t think that their difference will be enough somehow. But I think what Sebbie has shown everybody this year is that anybody can make a difference. And I think the most important thing that he’s shown is that some people might not be able to climb a mountain, or they might not be able to run a race, but what we can all do is be kind. And that’s the most important thing that Sebbie has done. Everybody can be kind.”

“It is with great admiration and gratitude that we present to you the “Shining World Compassion Award” for bringing smiles of joyous appreciation through numerous acts of love in action. This Award is presented in recognition of your kindness, courageously overcoming adversity in life to shine bright, touching hearts and creating a brighter and better future. The good deeds include watering gardens, posting mail for isolating locals, washing cars, giving out personal protective equipment, baking cakes for nurses, distributing warm coats to the homeless, walking animal companions, and much more. The Prime Minister, His Excellency, Boris Johnson, sent you a thank you note, in addition to the UK Points of Light award you received, which recognises inspirational volunteers.”
Sebbie and his mother Ashley Hall were also honored to receive the Award check, and expressed their sincere appreciation to Master.
“We’ve got a message to Supreme Master Ching Hai. We want to say thank You, thank You so much. This means so much. This money is going to set up a foundation called the Sebbie Hall Kindness Foundation. And what that will do is continue to raise money and care for vulnerable, disadvantaged and disabled young people.”

European Union faces COVID-19 and influenza pandemics at same time.
The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, recently warned that the continent faces a twin pandemic threat from both influenza and COVID-19 simultaneously. The warning was issued as the flu virus is spreading at a faster than anticipated rate, with the current strain causing severe illness in the elderly and putting an extra burden on already stretched medical facilities. Several regions of France have declared a flu epidemic, and a further six nations have recorded influenza rates in primary care above the normal threshold. Furthermore, countries including the United States, Israel, Brazil, the Philippines and Hungary have recorded cases of “flurona,” in which a person is co-infected with both the flu and COVID-19 viruses. Dubai to create more areas for electric scooter usage.
The city of Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, recently announced it will expand the number of areas where electric scooters can be used for transportation from five to 10. The regions will include Jumeirah Lakes Towers, Palm Jumeirah, City Walk and others. Designated tracks will be assigned for the purpose and will be ready for use during the first quarter of 2022. The expansion of e-scooter accessible locations comes after the city conducted an e-scooter operation trial in five districts to help relieve traffic congestion, with 82% of people being satisfied with the new mode of transit. American deaf football team celebrates unprecedented season.
After winning 11 straight games in their division, the Cubs football team of the California School for the Deaf, Riverside in the United States, competed in the championship game of the season for the first time in the school’s 68 year history. Head coach Keith Adams said of the players, “They can achieve whatever they want just like anybody else with hard work.” Although they didn’t win the final game, their amazing season was celebrated, including some of the team appearing on the Emmy Award-winning “The Kelly Clarkson Show” where the kind Ms. Clarkson donated US$25,000 to help create a “state-of-the-art” stadium for the team’s future training and games. First woman named as Supreme Court justice in Pakistan.
The Honorable Justice Ayesha Malik has been approved by Pakistan’s judicial commission to serve as a Supreme Court of Pakistan judge, making her the nation’s first female high court justice ever. This historic moment has been applauded by many lawyers and activists as a defining moment for women’s empowerment in the country. Justice Malik, a graduate of both the Pakistan College of Law and Harvard University in the United States, is widely respected for her integrity. The 55-year-young brilliant lawyer is a strong proponent of women’s rights and constitutional protections for women in Pakistan and has also provided her services pro bono for nongovernmental organizations focused on topics like poverty alleviation. Celebrity cites love of animal-people as main motivation for being vegan.
Fifty-three-year-young Donna D'Errico of the United States has always loved animal-persons, so becoming a vegan eight years ago was a natural step for her. Known for her role in the 1990s American television series, “Baywatch,” as well as numerous other television series and movies, Ms. D'Errico was moved to tears during an appearance on a podcast after being shown a video on animal-people factories. She then vowed to never eat meat again. The animal-people activist now works with many charities on behalf of princes and princesses from the animal kingdom, as well as continues to promote the vegan diet. In a recent interview, she credited the plant-based lifestyle with health benefits like clearer skin, better digestion and improved sleep. Kudos, Donna D'Errico, you are beautiful inside and out! Thank you for sharing your love with the vulnerable animal-persons as you also encourage vegan living with your noble example, in God’s loving Care.
Armani to stop using Angora rabbit-people fur.
Joining 300 other fashion brands, Italian luxury fashion firm Armani will implement a company-wide ban on using the fur of Angora rabbit-people, starting from the 2022-23 autumn/winter season. This decision was made after discussions with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), a Shining World Compassion Award recipient, about the abysmal cruelty to the Angora rabbit-people, and also due to the growing demand by morally-conscious consumers for compassionate clothing options. PETA welcomed this good news and urged other companies to follow suit. Our appreciation, Armani, for your considerate policy supporting a more loving world. May we soon see the fashion industry choose only vegan materials for all products, in the immeasurable kindness of the Providence.

Tiffany was driving when the police pulled her over. She rolled down her window and said to the officer:
“Is there a problem, officer?”
“No problem at all, ma’am. I just observed your safe driving and I am pleased to award you a $500 Safe Driver Award. Congratulations. What do you think you’re going to do with the money?”
Tiffany thought for a moment.
“Well, I guess I’ll finally have enough money to get that driver’s license!”
