“Actually, I think that if everyone could value the aesthetics of life and the soul of art, I believe society would be more peaceful, because beauty purifies the heart. I think it is very valuable that Master is able to organize this International Artist Day. Because Master truly respects artists. I think it is very difficult to become an artist. Being an artist is very demanding. Supreme Master Ching Hai was able to create this festival, allowing everyone to enjoy it together and focus on this cause; I think it is very remarkable. I also thank Master for giving us artists this opportunity to showcase the life of art. Thank you!”“I discovered that the whole story involved many different people: Hakka, aboriginals, Aulacese (Vietnamese), and Japanese. Then it suddenly occurred to me that due to historical reasons, Taiwan (Formosa) has been home to a diverse range of ethnic groups. What I found truly amazing was how the musical presented Supreme Master Ching Hai’s poems using different musical arrangements. And then the backdrop used paintings by Supreme Master Ching Hai, presented dynamically, allowing for discovery from different angles how Supreme Master Ching Hai’s paintings, combined with the music, create… I feel the experience is different from when I’ve seen paintings before. And this grand musical touched me so much because it also explored issues of family warmth, parent-child relationship or emotions. What I found amazing was that, for example, with aboriginal songs, even though I didn’t understand the lyrics very well, I could still feel the emotion while listening to them. I think it is incredible. Sometimes you don’t need to understand the language to truly connect with art. I think Taiwan (Formosa) has such a rich and diverse ethnic group, and we also have rich and diverse arts and culture. I am very happy to be Taiwanese (Formosan).”
