NASA, an annular solar eclipse can be viewed from North, Central as well as South America on October 14, 2023, and a total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024, which can be viewed across North America. Seeing a total solar eclipse is extremely rare, so if you miss the April 2024 occurrence, the next opportunity will not happen again until 20 years later in 2044.
On April 20, 2023, a special hybrid solar eclipse, where the Moon totally blocked the Sun, except for a shiny ring cast around the Moon’s shadow, occurred above the Eastern Hemisphere. This type of solar eclipse is especially rare, only occurring a few times each century.
