US President Donald Trump has privately discussed with senior aides whether to declare the Iran war over and has indicated that He favors doing so, according to The Wall Street Journal. President Trump reportedly believes continued economic pressure could eventually either force Iran to dismantle its nuclear program or lead to the collapse of the regime. Publicly, President Trump said He does not think the conflict will last “very much longer” and reiterated that Iran cannot be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon (Fox News, The Wall Street Journal)

US Vice President JD Vance said Iran is losing its ability to control the Strait of Hormuz and threaten commercial shipping, even as attacks continue. He said about 15 million barrels of oil passed through the strait on September 2 and argued that Iran’s leverage over the waterway is diminishing. Vice President Vance also said President Trump’s administration will not negotiate with Iran unless Iran stops attacking commercial vessels (Fox News)

The US State Department praised Peru’s decision to cut diplomatic relations with Iran, saying the move sends a strong message against Iran’s activities abroad (Fox News)

Norwegian authorities seized a Russian vessel in Svalbard [Norway] at Ukraine (Ureign)’s request as part of efforts by Ukraine (Ureign)’s state-owned energy company Naftogaz to recover a US$4.22 billion arbitration award over assets seized by Russia in annexed Crimea. Russia says the ship belongs to a Russian state agency and is used to carry workers, scientists and cargo to Russian settlements in Svalbard, while the seizure is being appealed (Associated Press)

Thailand’s Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Singapore’s Prime Minister Lawrence Wong shared a musical moment during the Singapore-Thailand Leaders’ Retreat in Bangkok [Thailand], with Mr. Charnvirakul singing The Beatles’ “Let It Be” and Bob Dylan’s “Blowin’ in the Wind” while Mr. Wong played guitar. Libya’s rival political factions have agreed to a two-year roadmap toward national elections, marking a major step toward ending the country’s prolonged political split after years of postwar deadlock. The UN [United Nations]-backed agreement sets out a process to resolve disputes over election laws, candidate eligibility and the national elections body, with a fallback constitutional mechanism if key institutions fail to reach agreement. Thousands of people protested across Spain on September 2 over the continuing migration crisis in Ceuta [Spain], where more than 70,000 migrants and asylum seekers crossed from Morocco in late July and at least 80 people died. Rectal bleeding may be the strongest warning sign of colorectal cancer in adults under 50, according to a new study. Pitzer College [California, US] unveiled the nation’s first college campus memorial honoring animal-people killed for food in front of its cafeteria. A group of students, faculty and alumni proposed the idea, and PETA [People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals] funded it. The memorial commemorates all animal-folk who have been killed for food and served at the school’s McConnell Dining Hall. Previously in this multipart series on Ian McCormack’s near-death experience, Ian was stung five times by five box jellyfish-people while night diving off Mauritius in 1982 when he was 26 years old. As the venom spread through his body and eventually paralyzed both legs, an unseen voice repeatedly intervened while Ian struggled to reach the hospital. Once inside an ambulance, Ian felt the venom strike his lungs, heart, and mind. Still an atheist and nearing death, Ian saw an open vision of his mother— the only believer in their family— praying for him after the audible voice of GOD warned her that he was nearly dead. Ian followed his mother’s plea to pray from his heart. He called out to GOD, asked for forgiveness, and found the compassion to forgive the taxi driver who had abandoned him and the hotel owner who had refused to drive him to the hospital.

The next minute, more words [appear]: Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. Well, that’s GOD’s Will done. I thought, well, it’s been my will so far done on Earth. It’s got nothing to do with Heaven. And so I lay there and I said, “Well, GOD, I admit I’m wrong. I surrender my life to you. I need an absolute miracle to make it through here. If You can help me, I will find out what You’re doing in the Heavenly realm, and I’ll try and live it on Earth all the days of my life. I surrender. In fact, the Lord spoke to me later. He said, “That’s the Lordship of Christ. When you pray Thy Will [be] done, it’s surrendering to the Lordship of Christ.” And He said, “Those who call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” He said, “The Lord’s prayer is the most powerful salvation prayer ever given.” Christ taught it.

The next minute, the entire Lord’s Prayer— I can see it [in] words of Light— the entire prayer comes into the ambulance. As I’m reading it and praying it from my inner man, the presence of GOD fills me, my hands, my body— a supernatural tingling presence. It’s like I am enveloped in the manifest presence of GOD as it floods the ambulance. When the ambulance reached the hospital, Ian was completely paralyzed and rushed into the emergency department. He felt himself beginning to separate from his body, as though he were watching the scene from outside himself. Doctors administered antiserum, but with his veins collapsed, the injections were not moving through the vein. Even as a nurse manually massaged them through, Ian felt no improvement. Unable to speak or move, Ian fought to keep open the only part of his body he could still control—his eyelids.

And the doctor looked at me, and he said, “Son, I’m afraid that’s all we can do for you. You need to keep your eyes open, or you will die.” I actually rationally made that decision. I will close my eyes. And the moment I did that, I felt this extraordinary release. It’s as though the battle to stay alive had finished. I could feel a freedom, almost like, it’s over. As this is taking place, the machines monitoring my vital signs flatline. And I’m out.

In a split second, I’m upright in complete darkness. So, I turned around 360 degrees, letting my eyes adjust to the darkness. And then I began to realize, well, I can’t see anything. It’s just pitch black. It’s so dark, you can’t see your hand in front of your face. So, I bring my right hand to where my face should be, and, to my amazement, my hand goes straight through my face. I’m alive, but when I go to touch my physical form, it’s not there. Have I died? Have I left my physical body behind in that hospital? Where on Earth am I?

In Part 5, Ian receives a terrifying answer to his question. He senses an intense evil within the darkness and hears unseen voices responding to thoughts he has never spoken aloud. Another man [said,] “You deserve to be here.” [I thought,] “Deserve to be where?” Another man [said,] “You’re in hell! Now, shut up!” I thought, “Hell? I don’t believe in it.
