On today’s show, we’ll examine how food production and consumption play a major role in emitting GHGs and how this process affects our precious planet Earth.

Various scientific studies have found that high levels of GHGs are emitted at every stage of the animal-people meat production process, resulting in a massive carbon footprint for every piece of animal-people flesh consumed. However, something even more alarming is now happening – the potential extinction of food items such as corn, wheat, cocoa, coffee beans, bananas, and rice.

Dr. Jonas Jägermeyr warns, “Even under optimistic climate change scenarios, where societies enact ambitious efforts to limit global temperature rise, global agriculture is facing a new climate reality. And with the interconnectedness of the global food system, impacts in even one region’s breadbasket will be felt worldwide.” Due to such wheat agriculture changes across the globe, threats of low crop yields can potentially lead to food scarcity. The cost of staple food commodities may also rise, making them more unaffordable for people in poorer societies.

The severity of climate change effects caused by producing and consuming animal-people meat is alarming. Will the production of many of our favorite foods soon come to an end? What’s the best way to stop this from happening? Let’s hear some advice from our Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan), on how to reverse the effects of climate change and the benefits of ending the animal-people-raising industry.

“Organic vegan will produce a beneficial cooling effect as it will cut down methane and other greenhouse gases which are fatal to our survival. We can start by cutting down on the biggest methane producer in the world, that is, animal-people livestock raising. So, to cool the planet most quickly, we have to stop consuming animal-people meat in order to stop the livestock-raising industry and thus stop greenhouse gases, methane, and other toxic gases from the animal-people livestock industry. If everyone in the world would adopt this simple but most powerful practice of an animal-people-free diet, then we could reverse the effect of global warming in no time.”
