“Hi, I’m Maximilian. Today, I’ll be in the kitchen making a gluten-free vegan chocolate cake so that even your gluten-free family and friends can enjoy a moist and delicious treat. I’ve got a clean bowl here where I’ll first mix the dry ingredients. I’ll start off with two cups of gluten-free oat flour. I’ll add in half a cup of brown rice flour, followed by a teaspoon of baking soda. And we’re making chocolate cake here, so I will be adding a three quarter cup of cocoa powder. Then lastly, half a teaspoon of salt.

First, I took a frozen banana from the freezer, put it in a high-speed blender, added in a half cup of water, and blended it to a pulp. Then I’m going to add in soy yogurt. Then I’m going to add in one quarter cup of sunflower seed butter. Then I’m going to add in one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. This reacts with the baking soda to give the cake a lift. Then I’m going to add in a three quarter cup of soy milk. Lastly, I’m going to add in half a cup of agave nectar, and that will really sweeten it up.

I’ll take my dry ingredient bowl. I’ll make a little hole in it and then pour the wet ingredients in the middle. I’ll mix it thoroughly, so it becomes more and more like a cake batter. We’re now ready to pour the batter into the pan. I’ll preheat the oven to 350ºF (180ºC). And I’ll put this vegan cake in there for about 47 to 50 minutes until it is done.”

“While the vegan cake is baking, let’s make the vegan chocolate coating. I’m going to add in one cup of coconut oil. I’ll sweeten it up with half a cup of agave nectar. I’ll add in one teaspoon of alcohol-free vanilla and a pinch of salt. I’ll mix those all together, and then I’ll gradually add half a cup of cocoa powder and whisk it all together.

We have a vegan cake that is baked and completely cooled. Then I’ll take some vegan whipped topping. I’ll take about half of it and put it on the bottom half of the (vegan) cake. Now that I have the top part of the (vegan) cake on the (vegan) whipped topping, I’m ready to frost it with the (vegan) chocolate coating, which is now thick enough to use.

Well, it looks pretty good, but let’s go ahead and make it a little fancy and add some sliced strawberries on top. There it is.”
