After retirement, I began to recall my negligence of not paying filial piety to my mother by her bedside during her later years. I shed tears of great sadness. One afternoon, a friend gave me a copy of The Supreme Master Ching Hai News magazine. I flipped through it and saw an eye-catching title: “Practicing the Quan Yin Method Is the Greatest Filial Piety.” Overjoyed, tears flooded my eyes. After briefly getting to understand it, I made up my mind to close my clinic. I changed all my tableware and embarked on a vegan lifestyle. Two years later, I got initiated by Supreme Master Ching Hai. After initiation, I opened a vegan food store in order to make expiation for my guilt as well as to serve fellow initiates.
Handling lots of frozen food every day and failing to protect my hands properly, I had sore fingers which were diagnosed as “highly positive of rheumatoid factor.” What shall I do? My stomach was not so good, and most medicines for rheumatism contained insect ingredients, which I couldn’t take! I remembered Master’s words, “Doing the Quan Yin (inner Heavenly Sound) cures all illnesses.” I decided to follow Master’s instruction to meditate diligently and increase the length of (inner Heavenly) Sound meditation time. After doing one hour of (inner Heavenly) Sound meditation each time, my swollen fingers ached so excruciatingly that I struggled to continue. But I didn’t give up and tried even harder to carry on. After some time, my condition was slightly better and that enhanced my faith to keep on. Over half a year has passed, and my hands finally have recovered. Without any pain or inflammation, my hands were able to move freely again. I could finally breathe a sigh of relief!
Master, it is all thanks to the Quan Yin Method that You have imparted to me. It’s the Power of the (inner Heavenly) Sound meditation that subdued my illness on time and shortened its course to effectively prevent the deformation of my finger joints! How incredible the amazing “Quan Yin” is! It has widened my horizon and refreshed my knowledge! Practicing the Quan Yin Method not only has provided a Home for my soul and spirit, but also makes up for my unfulfilled filial piety to my mother.

But you must know that truly the aid your mother has received through your spiritual practice is greater than any physical assistance you could have given her while she was alive.
