Researchers studying a methane leak caused by deep-sea drilling in the South China Sea found that marine microorganisms can form an effective natural methane filter within just one to two years, much faster than previously thought. Burrowing worms then helped the system develop further by mixing the sediment and supporting methane breakdown. Researchers analyzing a decade of wildlife rescue reports in Australia found that native animal-people are increasingly using homes and other buildings as substitute habitat as natural shelter disappears. Possum-folk accounted for about half of the 2,400 cases studied, followed by microbat- and wombat-people, with animal-folk found in roofs, walls, garages, under houses and sometimes even bedrooms, kitchens, letterboxes and air-conditioning systems. Previously in this multipart series on Ian McCormack’s near-death experience, Ian—then 26—was stung five times by five box jellyfish while night diving off Mauritius in 1982. Nearing death inside an ambulance, Ian—still an atheist— saw an open vision of his mother praying for him. At the hospital, Ian deliberately closed his eyes, and the machines monitoring his vital signs flatlined. Ian remained conscious outside his physical body and found himself in a realm of intense darkness, where unseen voices told him he was in hell. Radiant Light lifted him out and drew him through a tunnel filled with waves of comfort, peace, and joy. Beyond the tunnel, Ian encountered a Person within an immense radiance. When Ian realized he might be standing before Almighty GOD, he feared judgment— but instead received unconditional Love and felt his broken heart being healed.

When the veils of Light opened, Ian saw the figure within and soon recognized Him as Lord Jesus Christ (vegetarian) As Ian approached, waves of purity, holiness, and Divine Love flowed into him. Then, as the Lord’s presence opened like a doorway into eternity, Ian glimpsed what lay beyond. I see behind Him fields and grasses. He said, “Ian, now that you’ve seen, do you wish to remain here or do you wish to return?” I said, “Well, remain here. I have nothing to return for. I have no debt. I’m not married. I have no children. And no one loves me. I have nothing to go back for. I wish to remain in your Love. I’ve never experienced such pure acceptance.” So, I looked back to say goodbye, and directly behind me was a clear vision of my mother, and it hit me. My mom—there’s one person that was praying for me. I wouldn’t be here had she not been interceding for me and praying on her knees. I must go back. And I thought my mother would have no concept that her heathenistic son had made it into Heaven. She’d think I went to hell. She knew my lifestyle. She knew my friends. So, I said, “GOD, I must go back and tell my mom what she believes in is real.” I love her. I couldn’t possibly selfishly enter here without going back to tell her what she believes in is real.

He said, “Ian, if you do return, you must see things in a new light, from an eternal, Heavenly perspective, from My eyes of Love, not from a temporary, earthly one. You must see from My eyes.” And so, I’m looking back, and my father instantaneously appears, my brother, my sister, hundreds of thousands of people, just a sea of humanity. And the Lord said to me, “Ian, I want you to go back and tell them.” I said, “What?” He said, “Most of them will not come into a church any longer to hear My Name. I want you to return and tell them what you’ve seen.” I said, “But GOD, I don’t know them. I don’t love them. I love my mother, but I don’t love these people.” He said, “Ian, I love them. I desire all of them to come to know Me.”

Ian then asked the Lord how he could return to his body. He said, “Son, tilt your head. Now feel the liquid drain from your eye. Now open your eye and see.” As He speaks, I find, to my amazement, my head’s tilted, my right eye’s opening, and I’m on a slab with a doctor with a scalpel. As I tilt my head and open my eye, the poor doctor sees it and goes through the ceiling. Both of us are terrified. And here, to my amazement, are three nurses that had worked on me in the ED [emergency department]. They see me; one is crouched over the other. She hits her in the chin in slow motion. Two fall to the ground. Then all three of them run. I thought, “They’re acting as if I’ve just come back from the dead.”

Ian turned his attention back to the doctor who had been standing over him with the scalpel. I thought, “Will he run?” He said, “Son, you’ve been dead for 15 to 20 minutes. We’ve done nothing to bring you back.” As I lay there, power like electricity began flowing through me. The healing virtue of Christ, from the tip of my head, began going through my body, and within three or four hours I was completely healed and walked out of the hospital. After returning home, Ian followed the Lord’s instruction to read the Bible.

And mother said, “Ian, what’s happened? Why are you reading so much?” I just burst into tears. I said, “Mom, I saw you praying.” I told her my story. She then burst into tears. We matched the stories. I gave Mom a hug. [I thought,] “Mother, you have no idea how powerful those prayers were. I wouldn’t be here.
