Traditonal Musical Instrument: Enchanting Mandolin, Part 1 of 2

Although there are many variations, the mandolin generally has a hollow wooden body that includes a soundboard with a teardrop shape. Today, the mandolin plays a vital role in both orchestral and bluegrass music. As Mr. Nigel Woodhouse, a professional mandolinist who has played with many world-renowned orchestras and ensembles, explains: “… the mandolin has two of each string; they’re close pairs intended to be played as one string. It’s the doubling of the strings which gives the mandolin its particular resonance and sustain.”

So, I hope we teach ways to communicate with music. So, I think the musician’s role here is very important. And I hope the unification of North and South will come true through music.

The Prophecy of Master Peter Deunov, Part 2 of 4, Aug. 04, 2015

This Master really knew things! He knew! “They will remain behind in evolution, and must wait tens of millions of years for the coming of a new ascending wave. The Earth, the solar system, the universe all are being put in a new direction under the impulsion of love. Most of you still consider love as a derisory force. But in reality, it is the greatest of all forces. Money and power continue to be venerated as if the course of your life depended upon it. In the future, all will be subjugated to love and all will serve it,”serve love, “but it is through suffering and difficulties that the consciousness of man will be awakened.”

The Mapuche: The People of the Earth, Part 2 of 2

As we continue our exploration of the Mapuche people in Chile and Argentina. The Mapuche traditionally lived in houses called rukas. The rukas were made of local materials. Like most aspects of their culture, music, singing and dance reflect the Mapuchen world view that they exist to live in harmony with everything around them- the earth, plants, animals and neighbors near and far. Many of the dances imitate and honor the animals that inhabit their environment. Let’s look at one of the more uplifting traditional dances.

Still, He’s telling them, “Don’t eat meat, don’t wear silk even, don’t wear leather boots, don’t wear down from the plucked feathers from the birds, don’t wear down from this country. Don’t consume milk, don’t consume cream made from milk, and butter, then you can truly transcend this world.” Not just I said it, the Buddha said it here. I marked it with a star. “Why? It is because when one wears something taken from a living creature, one creates conditions with it, just as when people eat the hundred grains, their feet cannot leave the earth.”

Animal World: Our Co-inhabitants

Spring’s Spirited Animals

How do animals know when it is spring without calendars? They generally look for cues in the environment to perceive the change in season. During winter, the days are shorter and colder. As the season transitions to spring, animals detect that the days have become longer and warmer. What an intelligent way to distinguish between season! It is not only humans that feel more enthusiastic and animated at the beginning of spring. Do you know that animals sense the excitement of this period too? Birds, insects, squirrels, chipmunks and even deer catch the spirit.

The instruments’ sounds are inspired from higher realms within. Artists are often viewed as half-saints, because they bring celestial music to this Earth for us to enjoy. Piano music has its beginnings in the Baroque period between 1600 and 1750. Baroque music is characterized by an energetic rhythm. One of the most important composers of the Baroque period is Bach. The Mapuche have resided in modern day Argentina and Chile for over 2500 years. They make up the largest group of indigenous people in Chile, accounting for approximately 10% of the population. Another 300,000 reside in Argentina. The rituals and cultural traditions of the Mapuche people are designed to enable them to live in harmony with the stars, the earth and all her inhabitants. They believe humans and all animals, from the largest to the smallest insect, can only exist through the grace of a higher spiritual power. Humans are also viewed as essential and integral parts of everything that surrounds them, in the skies and on the earth.

The Surangama Sutra: The Four Clear and Unalterable Instructions on Purity - Refrain from Lust and Killing, Part 5 of 6, Dec. 22, 2018

"Your basic purpose of cultivating samadhi is to transcend the wearisome defilements. But if you do not renounce your thoughts of killing, you will not be able to get out of the dust." The Buddha means, after lust, if you already conquered the lustful mind, but still... You already cut off defilement in one department, but if your mind still doesn't cut off the thoughts of killing, or violence, or harm to others, then you don't get out of the samsara dust. Samsara, this world's dust; meaning thrown in again and again in the dust and carrying this dusty body, which is made of dust. Buddha said it like that, meaning you can never get out of the physical existence.

The Surangama Sutra: The Four Clear and Unalterable Instructions on Purity - Refrain from Lust and Killing, Part 4 of 6, Dec. 22, 2018

This is the path that you have to walk through, if you cultivate based on lust. Not just like practice and then it’s easy to become Buddha. There are so many traps around. Which road will you take to cultivate and be certified to the Thus Come One’s Nirvana? The mind has been born like that, to make trouble, just following the would. Only the soul is truly wise, and intelligent, and good, and virtuous, and whatever the best you think of; that’s in the soul, inherent already. So, be merciful to yourself, just be aware. Knowing our weakness, and strive to be stronger, not indulging in or our weakness.

In Celebration of International Artist Day, Reminiscing the Old Times, Part 3 of 3

All true artists are love incarnate. They are here to give life, plenty of sun-shining smiles on countless faces and hearts. We must love them. We must honor them. Whatever we can so-called help them, it’s just to contribute to show gratitude to what they offer to our world. Because what they offer is more than material value. We cannot buy their art. Actually, we cannot pay anything that the artistic do during their out-of-this-world inspiration. I myself, if there is a company I’ll be glad to be with all the time, it shall be the genuine, kind, talented artists and their art lovers.

Three. “T hat is, collecting one’s thoughts constitutes to the precepts.” Meaning you have to keep the precepts. That’s number one. “And then because from the precepts will come samadhi.” Meaning you’ll be established in tranquility, in the non-reversible, enlightened state of being. That is samadhi. Not just when you sit cross-legged and your soul leaves your body, going to the high Heaven. You concentrate always on the Holy Names, concentration on goodness, virtues. Just remember all that, and you’re just forgetful of every other thing. That’s why the Buddha said collecting thoughts, meaning collecting all of this concentration, one-pointedness is as good as precepts. You keep the precepts, you keep yourself pure, and you continue your path one-pointedly.
